Seyhan Camgoz is a photographer and creative artist based in Melbourne.Her Bachelor of Fine Arts with major in photographing came before her further education studies in photography and film.Seyhan completed her Master of Photography degree with high distinction at Deakin University in Melbourne Australia.Her major mediums are photography, illustration and sculpture.She has been exploring sexuality, politics, humanism and nature through different mediums and art. Seyhan begin photography as a means of dealing with social politic tragedies. In her early work she created some images of the female body, highlighting sexuality, religious and political as major themes. She believes that all people are impacted by socio-political forces and can be victims of religious judgment and reduction of human existence. She has been exploring in her work; an enquiry into what it feels like to be human while under pressure. Later on continued to discover of identity of woman through to her photography and illustration works. She also experiments to create sculpture jewelleries with abstraction of using fallen branches from nature. She calls them as 'Fractals' and describes them not just a hand made jewelry, also a sensitive piece of art/sculpture as much as a story of the mother nature. She has been working as Portrait photographer and has been creating her own art at the same time for 14 years. Her works published in variety of magazines and has done many exhibitions between Istanbul and Melbourne. Nowadays she is more focused of exhibiting her art and creating pieces for the contemporary art galleries.
